ACCESSIBILITY FOR ALL, ONLINE AND ONSITE

Find here all information about access, facilities, and services available at the Aquarium de Biarritz.

Digital Accessibility

The Aquarium de Biarritz website adapts to its visitors. If you have visual or hearing difficulties, please use our accessibility button to help you navigate more easily through our online welcome.

People with Reduced Mobility

The Aquarium is accessible to people with reduced mobility. An elevator serves all levels of the Aquarium, ensuring easy access to all exhibition areas. Accessible restrooms for people with reduced mobility are available within the facility.

Accessibility for visitors with reduced mobility and strollers

The Biarritz Aquarium has two parking spaces reserved for visitors with reduced mobility, located right in front of the main entrance.
To access one of these two spaces, take the Atalaye plateau tunnel (Bd du Maréchal Leclerc). At the intercom, press the “Musée de la Mer” button and request access to the adapted entrance. The gate will be opened for you.
If these two spaces are already occupied, four additional accessible parking spaces are available in the paid Port Vieux car park.

For visitors with reduced mobility and those with strollers, please do not use the Atalaye footpath to reach the Aquarium’s pedestrian entrance (located opposite the Rocher de la Vierge), as it includes stairs and is not suitable for strollers or wheelchair users.
Instead, please use the accessible pedestrian route, marked in blue on the map.

Please note that the Aquarium entrance and exit are not located in the same place. The exit leads to the Atalaye plateau, which is surrounded by stairs.
We recommend consulting the map below for detailed information on the building’s accessibility, so you can plan your visit with peace of mind.

Guide and Assistance Dogs

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome at the Aquarium.
A mobility inclusion card or disability card will be requested. You will also need to present a certificate proving that the dog comes from an assistance dog school.
Trainers or host families presenting a guide dog in training will also be allowed entry.

Reduced Rates

A €2 discount is applied on the entrance fee for people with disabilities (only available at the ticket counter upon presentation of proof).
The accompanying person benefits from free entry if the disability card mentions the need for accompaniment.
