Installed and blessed in 1865, the Virgin commemorates the return of Basque whalers to the Port-Vieux beach. Since 1887, it has been accessible via a footbridge overlooking the ocean.

During rough seas, especially in winter, the waves are impressive, delighting surfing enthusiasts.
