The Aquarium de Biarritz Care Center
This center is dedicated to the rehabilitation of young seals stranded on the Basque coast. Each year, our teams care for animals in distress by treating them and reintegrating them into their natural habitat as soon as they are ready to return to the ocean independently.
Eco-responsible initiatives
The Aquarium follows a strict policy regarding the stocking of its tanks, favoring animals from responsible breeding or sustainable fishing. This choice helps to limit the impact on wild populations and promote the conservation of marine biodiversity, while reducing carbon emissions linked to marine resource exploitation and implementing measures to protect nature.
Faced with the alarming degradation of reefs – 25% have already been destroyed – the Aquarium is committed to coral fragging and breeding, thus avoiding the collection of individuals from their natural environment.

The Aquarium de Biarritz collaborates with numerous research organizations, associations, and environmental programs to act in favor of the ocean and marine biodiversity, such as aquariums and research centers in France and Spain.
